Easy Kid Craft–Straw Painting

Time for another kid craft.  I’ve always loved crafts and I love that my kids (daughter and son both) love creating!  My daughter especially loves anything art related.  This is another easy “painting” craft to do.

Just a few supplies:

Pinterest

I’ve been working on cleaning up and streamlining my blog lately.  In my research I learned I could create a pinterest account just for my blog.  I know, where have I been?!?  I had no idea.  I was just pinning my tutorials and craft ideas to my personal pinterest account.

Now I have a BLOG pinterest account:

And a PERSONAL pinterest account:
personal pinterest

I’ve linked both in my sidebar.  If you just want to see pins from my DIY projects and crafts you can follow just the blog pinterest account.  If you’d like to see what inspires me and what I personally pin be sure to follow my personal pinterest account.  I’d love for you to follow one . . . . or both!!  You can also just click on the pictures above.

Summer Craft Camp for Kids!

invitation
Since my daughter is getting older and loves crafts I decided to host a craft camp for her this summer.  We picked 4 crafts using a variety of skills and materials.  A 4th of July shirt that will involve a little sewing, a monogram necklace using shrink art, a decorated journal using paper and Mod Podge, and a wood doll bed using simple tools.

Good-bye Google Reader . . . . Hello Bloglovin’

If you’re not aware yet, after July 1st you’ll no longer be able to use google reader for your favorite blogs.  However, Bloglovin is an easy fix.  I love reading my blogs through Bloglovin’.  You get a short paragraph on each blog of the most recent post and you just click on the title if you want to read more.  It also includes a photo.  This is a similar setup to google reader.

Making the change is easy.  Just set up a bloglovin’ account (if you don’t have one) and it will ask if you want to import from google reader.  Just click the button and import.  Simple as that.

If you already have an account but still need to import some of your favorite blogs from google reader go here:  http://www.bloglovin.com/import/reader.  Once you log in you just click on the button to import and then you’re good to go!

If you want to read on your iPad or Phone here is the app for that.

You can follow me here:  A Sprinkle of This . . . . A Dash of That  or just click the bloglovin’ button on the sidebar to the right under “follow me”.

Zoo Scavenger Hunt–Free Printable

zoo scavenger hunt
My kids love the zoo.  In fact, we’re going to spend the night in the zoo for my son’s 5th birthday.  They have a ton of activities planned for the evening like a scavenger hunt and a hike in the dark (with flashlights).  My kids are so excited - I think I am too  Smile

We’re fortunate to live near the St. Louis zoo which is one of the best free zoos around.  We actually bought a membership this year.  If you ever have a chance to visit the St. Louis Zoo I highly recommend checking out the sting ray exhibit . . . . especially if you happen to be inside during feeding time.  We got lucky the last time we were there and all got to take turns feeding them.  So weird!  The sea lion tunnel is also pretty cool!
