Halloween Mini Posts
Remember these mini candlestick hangers my craft club made a few weeks ago . . . .

I finally got them decorated for Halloween.

Since I’m quickly running out of time I just printed some quick Trick or Treat signs.

I think they look great with my haunted house tea light and wood “spooky” sign.

Welcome Post–Craft club
My craft club met again in Sept. This time we built these awesome Welcome Posts (that’ I’ve had pinned for over a year!). This tutorial was our inspiration.
Using freecycled wood and other scraps we were able to keep the cost down. Each post was around $4 to create.

Halloween Costume ~ Bat Wings!
I usually try to get my kids to match their costumes. They’re starting to fight me on this so it might be my last year
Remember this Batmobile?

My son wants to be Batman and he wants to drive his Batmobile. I painted his red and yellow Cozy Coupe to transform it into a Batmobile. I’m guessing he’ll get tired of getting in and out of it but he may use it for a block or two. You can see the full tutorial here.

Halloween Front Door
I usually just throw a decoration on a hook on my front door and call it a day but this year I went all out. I saw this door and loved it.

I recreated it using the following . . . .
1. Grapevine wreath from Target dollar spot
2. Black feather boa from Hobby Lobby
3. Halloween shapes downloaded from Silhouette and cut using my Cameo

Bottom Freezer Organization
Since my fridge looks so good now (see the tutorial here) I thought I should organize my freezer.
I’ve had a hard time with this one. I LOVE my bottom freezer but it is very hard to keep organized. It’s basically a bottomless pit. Stuff always gets lost at the bottom.

Refrigerator Organization
Cleaning out my fridge was loooong overdue. We spilled some things a while ago and I think we were each waiting for the other one to clean it out. My husband won. I couldn’t stand it anymore. I needed to pull everything out to clean the shelves and bins properly so I thought it would be a great time to organize it better. We recently bought a french door bottom freezer fridge and it has a ton of space . . . . almost too much . . . . we tend to keep more than we should . . . .
Not too bad but I have too many little things that get shoved to the back and lost. Since I’m short it’s hard for me to get things on top or in the back. I started by pulling everything out.

Kids Bathroom Update – Part 1
I painted and decorated my kids bathroom several years ago.
The duck theme started from this one wooden doorstop.

I used to teach and this was in my classroom. A teacher on my team stole it and then held it for ransom. He would periodically send me notes and even pictures. Even my students got in on it and took it on trips with them. It was actually very entertaining. I finally got it back at Christmas at our faculty party at a roast. So much fun! For the rest of the year my kids would bring in stuffed animal ducks, put duck stickers all over my room, and even gave me some duck pj pants for Christmas. I actually still have them!

Halloween BOO!
My craft club made these photo stands last Christmas. We originally made them to say JOY on burlap. You can click here to see the full tutorial.

I decided to redo them for Halloween. I used my Cameo to cut out B*O*O letters, glued them onto other cardstock, and clipped them to the stands. I also tied on some ribbon in Halloween colors.
The black stands are perfect for Halloween. I think I like the Halloween version better than the Christmas one. Now I just need to come up with a trio of something for Thanksgiving or Fall.

Coffee Table Quote
Last summer I refinished my coffee table. It was originally a cheap pine table that my sister was getting rid of. I painted the legs white and the top with chalkboard paint. After several years I was tired of that so I sanded the top to bare wood again and stained it. You can see the full tutorial here.
Version 1

Version 2
I’ve always wanted to add a vinyl quote around the edges and I finally found the perfect one:

Christmas Planner
Yep . . . . I’m already thinking about Christmas. I created this planner last year and it helped me out so much that I added some pages to it for this year to make it even better.

Organization for Electronics
We’ve had U-verse for a while now and we’ve just kept the modem and gateway
on the floor behind the couch were it goes into the wall. Not exactly
convenient but not a big deal unless we need to reset it.
When I need to reset the U-Verse box I have to practically stand on my head to get behind the table or pull everything out of the way. Big pain. Not to mention the dust bunnies back there. OMG!!!! And the cords were out of control!
Recently we replaced our home phone with Ooma. Our phone bill went from $30+ to less than $5 a month . . . . but the best part is our phone service didn’t change at all. We still have call waiting and caller ID. We actually even have long distance calling included now. I highly recommend it. We got ours from Costco (I’m not affiliated with them . . . . this is just my opinion). The only downside is we have to put the Ooma box somewhere. It’s in the same area as the U-Verse but it has to sit on the end table as it’s also our answering machine so I have to be able to see it.

Definitely not a great set-up . . . .
